Alex Guebert's arrangement of the beloved carol tells its familiar musical story in a fresh and unique way that is full of surprises. The first verse reflects the anticipation of the mother and the light, dancing steps of her daugthers as they run to the stable to see the Christ-child. In the second verse, the mother urges them to “hush-hush” as they approach the manger. Finally, we return to a happy, dancing mood as they all rush outside to tell the Good News to others. 95 measures. Key of G Major.
