Review:
A little melodic phrase of six simple notes leads to a glorious original melody that moves from C minor to E flat Major, from night to day; in a composition that transforms before our very eyes and ears. Near the close, the hymn tune HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING appears as the transformation is nearly complete. "Songs In the Night" was a commission by the Donald E. Allured Commission Committee for premiere at Bay View Week of Handbells 2019. A masterful Level 3 composition to be sure. 169 measures.
