Review:
Douglas Anderson’s arrangement of the hymntune ST. AGNES is a perfect choice for the smaller ensemble looking for more of a musical challenge. The setting is straightforward, but careful attention is required to bring out the melody. A verse in minor with the melody on chimes provides aural contrast, and a final triumphant verse brings the piece to a satisfying conclusion. 71 measures. Keys of D Major, d minor, and C Major.
