It should be played with careful observance of the dynamics with sensitivity to the ‘weeping motif’ in measures 19-20 and ebb and flow in measures 39-40, careful to bring out the emotion of the piece expressing a sense of nostalgic longing and the poignant observance of the passage of time. 139 measures.
