Review:
The opening accompaniment to this hymn tune is inspired, although not directly quoted, by the lovely “Footsteps in the Snow” by Claude Debussy. The arrangement is quiet and sustained, and keys change from G to E to C with few accidentals. The challenge is in the tonal balance and dynamic control. 50 measures.
