Review:
This is a fascinating original work for the advanced level choir. The main body of the work lies in three repetitious sections designated “Rock-like”, referring to the often syncopated moving bass line supporting the theme. Contrasting sections marked “Smoothly legato” are scored in even rhythms. Contrasts are enhanced by tonalities moving from G Minor to G Major and back again. This is a rhythmic study, moving often between 3/4 and 4/4, but it will be a zesty learning experience for ringers and a delight for an audience. 180 measures.
