Review:
A festive flourish for Thanksgiving or general use, this clarion call is an effective service opener. A keyboard opening sweeps up into a climbing passage using the lead motive from “For the Beauty of the Earth.” This energizing crescendo ends in a noble, original theme. An a cappella section adds contrast and the final carillon-like canon is inspired. Impressive! 3-octave handbell part included. The opening 8 measures modulate from Eb Major to G Major, then Ab Major before settling into C Major at measure 9. A final modulation to D Major occurs at measure 55. 76 measures in length.
