Review:
Based on a 19th Century ballet, this charming transcription sounds like its title implies- a dance done in wooden shoes. Ringers will face triplet and dotted eighth/sixteenth patterns throughout with some quick grace notes adding to the fun. There are frequent accidentals, and surprise--mallets and wood blocks are featured as well. This could be a great concert piece. It is 75 measures in length and is scored in e minor.
