This colorful setting of the traditional spiritual based on Matthew 25:1-13 features a bass line incorporating the spiritual “Elijah Rock.” Variety in the middle section comes from the main melody appearing in the bells while the secondary melody ("Keep Your Lamps") is played on handchimes. Appealing in its variety, this clever setting is sure to delight ringers and listeners alike. It is 85 measures and is scored in c minor.
