Review:
This familiar tune entitled “La Folia” is cleverly arranged for handbells and string ensemble. Ringers will enjoy several percussive effects, and high bells have some quick sixteenth note turns. The rhythms are easy, and there are a moderate number of accidentals. Set in d minor, "Variations on an Ancient Theme" is 104 measures.
