Originally a piano arrangement by Jon Ensminger, this setting of the traditional spiritual has been scored by Kevin McChesney for handbells. Dotted eighth-sixteenth rhythms abound and add "pop" to the quick pulse. Special attention should be given to bell changes to keep them precise. Well placed articulations give special emphasis to dramatic points in the lyrics. Set in f minor, this arrangement of "Joshua Fit da Battle" is a quick 50 measures.
