Review:
Michael Glasgow brings a lush and beautifully elegant treatment to “Jesus Loves Me.” This reflective and prayerful setting is a departure from the jauntier feel often associated with the tune. Scored for 2 to 6 octaves, the arrangement is designed like Glasgow’s “Trust and Obey” – all versions are provided in the same score and may be played separately or together. Now in its revised second printing with an improved antiphonal bracket system for festival use, pair it with the exquisite chamber orchestration (OP5055, also includes a string reduction), or gorgeous keyboard part (BP5055). If using bells and piano only, the conductor’s score is item FS5055. This staple of the handbell repertoire is an accessible Level 2+, perfect for worship or festival. 49 measures in length and written in C Major.
