Review:
You will definitely “wow” your audience with Cynthia Dobrinski’s exciting and rhythmic 3-7 octave rendition of this traditional English carol. Mallet and other staccato techniques (such as martellatos) contribute dynamic contrast and relentless energy that builds throughout ringing in “tidings of comfort and joy.” This surprisingly accessible piece is delightfully fun to play and sounds a lot harder than it actually is. Scored in e minor and c minor, it is 106 quick measures.
