This gorgeous, new setting of Martin Nystrom’s song was written in memory of a young man who bravely served in Iraq and sacrificed his life for his country. For 3-5 octaves with optional 3 octave chimes, this accessible arrangement is an uplifting reminder that God is the source of our strength in times of great loss. The ethereal opening imparts a sense of mystery surrounding our God — who is our strength and shield. A simple, guitar-like style accompanies this reflective meditation, gently leading us to God’s wonderful embrace. "As the Deer" is scored in C Major and is 74 measures.
