Review:
Patricia Cota offers a new collection in the popular Twelve Bells Series comprised of American spirituals. She call this book 12 bells +1 because she has added an extra tone to many of these selections which use minor modes. Small ensembles will enjoy these interesting settings which can be played without bell changes, making tables unnecessary. As always, care should be taken to bring out the melody and subordinate the harmonies.
