Using only six handbells (G4-B5) and an SAB choir, this old German anthem can be sung anytime during the fall season. The bells add their timbre by way of ostinati. The tune is quite folkloric in nature and provides a perfect melody to carry John Monsell's (1811-1875) poem. The text begins: "Sing to the Lord of harvest, sing songs of love and praise. With joyful hearts and voices your alleluias raise." 56 measures.
