Christmas Carillon, A
Margaret Tucker combines 3, 4 or 5-octaves of bells with optional 3-octaves of handchimes in this medley of five carols. The introduction is a unison bell peal (the carillon) which "thickens" out as it leads into "Joy to the World". After a key change "Angels We Have Heard on High" enters. Then the original bell peal expands and flows into "Good Christian Friends, Rejoice", which uses mallets in staccato technique and mart lifts. The tempo slows for "It Came Upon The Midnight Clear" and chimes are added on the melody. The piece ends with "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing".
