Allouette (A Lark)
"Allouette" is a traditional children’s French folk song about preparing a lark (a bird) as part of a meal. The Canadian version was first published in the 1880s in Quebec; fourteen years later, it was published in France. This theme and variations arrangement is in three sections, beginning easy and progressing to medium difficulty.

Part of the French Folk Song Suite for Handbells, this piece may be played alone or in combination with any of the other pieces in the Suite. Titles in the Suite are: "Allouette", "Au Claire de la Lune", "Sur le Pont d’Avignon", and "Frère Jacques".
