When We Gather
Calling God’s people to worship, “When We Gather” is based on Matthew 18:20 - “When two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.” Delicate at first, then soaring with a rise in key, the Level 3, 3-6 oct. handbell score can stand alone as a grand musical prelude in worship or a strong concert piece in its own right. The unison vocal line’s lovely melody and simple words can be presented by a soloist or quickly taught to the congregation (or a soloist can sing the verses and the congregation can sing the refrain after hearing it just once!) It can be played on handbells or hand chimes (no percussive techniques are used) and also has an optional part for 2 oct. chimes. Add the easy guitar part to complete the folk hymn feel. Commissioned to honor Marilyn Converse for 20 years of loving dedication to her bell choir, this piece was premiered as a surprise for her at a dinner in her honor. A perfect way to open worship, enliven a concert or add energy to a festival, “When We Gather” will leave your audience energized, humming the catchy refrain as they leave.
Just like all ringTrue scores, this score is available in hard copy format with a beautiful cover - or as a Digital License which allows you to make copies as needed. A guitar lead sheet with lyrics as well as a bulletin insert of the hymn is included in the score. Both are reproducible.
