Surprise!
Haydn’s familiar 4th “Surprise” Symphony springs to life in this fun piece with thumb damps or marts and echoes. Optional repeats (one with first and second endings) in both the A and B sections allow for a longer performance. Easy 8th note runs for a few ringers add some sparkle. Each 8th note pair is played within a position (a single ringer plays both of them - as in “one-and” or “three-and” - but NOT “and-four”) making them much easier to teach and master. A unison exercise page preparing ringers for required skills is included. “Surprise!” also coordinates with and supports the skills and theory learned in the “Square One” method books (RE3013R).
