Seasons of the Heart
An original work, commissioned in memory of a loved one, this selection combines optional handchimes (3 octaves) or solo instrument with 3-5 octaves of handbells to achieve a tender and flowing tapestry of melody, harmony, and accompanimental styles. Set in 4/4 time with simple rhythms, and open spacing for an "airy" feel that grows stronger throughout the worlk. Few special techniques are called for allowing ringers to focus in on the pure, rung sound of bells. 119 measures in length.
