Jesous Ahatonhia
This popular French folk song became important historically when a Jesuit missionary, Jean de Brebeuf, wrote lyrics using imagery based on Huron religious concepts to explain the birth of Christ to the Huron Indians. The 1st stanza is chordal, while the 2nd stanza has an arpeggiated bass accompaniment.
