Psalm 90
Charles Ives lengthy anthem, Psalm 90, is a unique opportunity for bells to be involved in an intricate way in the fabric of an anthem. The voices, organ and bells are all needed to correctly convey Ives impressions of the text. The bell part is divided into four staves. Throughout the work the bells present rhythmic ostinati, distinct melody, chromatic accompaniment and contrapuntal texture. If you're looking for a challenge for both vocal and ringing choir, this is a definite selection to fit that need. (Arranged for tubular bells.)
