Lift High the Cross
After a 9 bar introduction, fanfare opening, the refrain and first stanza are accompanied by bells, brass and organ with the congregation singing. Stanza 2 is for organ and men with everyone joining on the refrain. Stanza three uses staccato technique and in stanza four the women have the opportunity to sing alone. A fanfare interlude leads into the last stanza and final, big sounding refrain. Brass ensemble consists of 2 trumpets and 2 trombones.
