Hark a Thrilling Voice is Sounding
The 10th century, Latin hymn text has been set for SATB choir, organ, optional 3-octaves of bells with an additional part for congregational involvement. The text begins 'Hark! A thrilling voice is sounding! "Christ is near," we hear it say. Cast away the dreams of darkness, O ye children on the day!" Bells accompany the first, third and fifth stanza and have their separate score. The mood is hopeful and in a major key.
