Drop Drop Slow Tears
Four optional handbells are needed for this original anthem for SAB and organ: B4, E5, G5 and B5. A level one choir should be able to play the easy rhythms with the one challenge coming from ties across the barline. However, the tempo is marked "Slowly and Introspectively" and could be an obstacle. The text was written in 1633 by Phineas Fletcher and begins: "Drop, drop, drop, drop slow tears and bathe those beauteous feet, which brought from heaven the news and Prince of Peace."
