This piece, with a little extra rehearsing, could be quite playable by lower level choirs, as there are no eighth notes. However, this piece gets a level 3 rating due to the several bell changes, modulation, and tempo of quarter = 138. The hymn tune DARWELL'S 148TH is the basis for this setting and is most often sung to the text "Rejoice! the Lord Is King." An effective passage occurs midway in which the lower bells play the melody in accented half notes while the upper bells contribute a quarter-note accompaniment using the thumb damp technique. Scored in F Major, this piece is 78 measures.
