Aubade
The composer writes in the performance notes of this work: "A fellow ringer suggested to me that the French word "Aubade", meaning "morning song", might offer the inspiration for a new handbell work. And so it did! The piece is programmatic in nature, depicting the sounds and sights at dawn - the sounds of the birds, the lifting of the mist and, finally, the breakthrough of the sun." This composition is 58 measures.
