Prelude In D
This Keyboard transcription is an obvious derivation of the well-known Prelude in C Major (BWV 846) from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Vol I, by J. S. Bach. This shortened and simplified setting is found in the teaching notebook used by Wilhelm Friedmann Bach (son of Johann Sebastian), and is entered in his own hand with corrections inserted by his father. Authorities suggest that the work was simplified for the child's use. In parallel fashion, developing bell choirs will find this setting less taxing than the available transcriptions of Prelude in C Major.
