Soliloquy on Hyfrydol
'Hyfrydol' is a Welsh term which translates to "beautiful, melodious, and pleasing" and is a favorite hymn tune appearing in many, many hymnals. Composed by Rowland Prichard while he was still in his teens, it was first published in a children's songbook in 1844.
Kurt has given this tune a more introspective nuance, keeping the arrangement simple and calm, yet creative and engaging – making it perfect for use during Lent and other worship services. The melody is featured in bells and handchimes in treble as well as the 4’s in the bass. Singing Bell and LV patterns accompanying the melody create a feeling of peace and calm throughout this lovely setting.
