Rise Up Shepherd and Follow
This arrangement of the traditional spiritual begins with a musical quote from the Christmas carol "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night". The spiritual follows in a predictably rhythmic manner and with abundant use of mallets. As the spiritual concludes, the tempo slows and the volume decrescendos as the shepherds leave the scene.
