Griffin's Hornpipe 2 (Praise God's Name With Dancing)

Showcase from one to eight bell tree ringers accompanied by their fellow ringers all within 3 octaves (with more opt. bells) in this reproducible score This catchy original Celtic tune in ABCA form is easily learned and will brighten any concert, festival, or worship service (with the subtitle "Praise God’s Name with Dancing" based on Psalm 149:3). A great L2 teaching piece for form, eight notes, and beginning bell tree as well as for blank key signature modes (Dorian to Ionian and back to Dorian). Diatonic with 2 optional grace note sharps, this piece does not require any shared bells, bell changes, or even tables, so distanced ringing is also possible.

Two compatible score choices allow you to tailor the piece to your ringers. RE3815 is a regular full-choir performance piece for 3 or 5 octaves, while this version, RE5014R, showcases from 1 to 8 Bell Tree soloists using C6-C7 with an easy Level 2 ringing accompaniment. The entire score of RE5014R is reproducible!  Sections A, B, and C each feature an 8-measure melody with optional repeats and short interludes in between for changing out soloists, which allows up to 8 different bell tree ringers.

RE5014R is cleverly crafted so that only a single 3-octave set of bells is required for both the Bell Tree and the Accompaniment part (C6-C7 is optional for the accompaniment part). This allows a bell tree soloist to pull C6-C7 out of the set – and perhaps other ringers to play tambourine or drum ad lib. With extra ringers, you may also use chimes to play that optional C6-C7 range in the accompaniment part or, instead of bells, you may play the entire 3 or 5 oct. accompaniment on chimes. The Bell Tree part can also be played on 8-bells by a 4iH duet, a small ensemble, or a C Instrument. Perfect as a fun classroom assignment or concert showcase piece, an uplifting sacred piece for worship (using the sub-title), a celebration at the end of a Bell Tree Workshop or a broadly inclusive finale for a Festival concert, allowing Bell Tree ringers to fully participate. Set in D Dorian and C Ionian, 69 measures, 2:30 performance time (without repeats). The audio clip features the full choir score RE3815 for 3 or 5 oct.
