Ayres for Bells
AYRES FOR BELLS is a two part piece, combining a march and a dance. The "March" is elegant and purposeful. There is a modulation, and the second part of the piece is presented as a joyous "Dance" in 6/8 time. Although long, the piece is not difficult to ring and well worth the time to work it up. Bass bells will need good ringers, as there are some passages that will require more skill. Mallets may be used at any time it is necessary to play a passage. 52 measures in length, AYRES is for general use. It is scored in Eb Major throughout.
