At the River
"Shall We Gather at the River" never sounded so inviting and so pleasant than it does in this thoughtful rendition. Flowing harmonies and tender phrasing accentuate the melody so carefully crafted through the skillful use of handbells, handchimes and cello. Cello is not optional since it carries the melody line, but any C instrument may be substituted. The most challenging aspects of the handbell part are the dotted sixteenth rhythms and the key change. This 63-measure piece is set in C Major and E Major.
