Child Born of Mary
Based on the sixteenth-century BALOO LAMMY cradle song, this memorable Scottish Christmas hymn is wonderfully arranged for two or three octaves of handbells or handchimes by Scotsman Malcolm Wilson. The melody may be heard plainly at the beginning, then more rhythmic activity occurs to symbolize the Christ Child’s waking. As it is a cradle song, it may sound very effective when played with handchimes. Scored in G Major, it is 91 measures.
