Chanson de Matin
Sir Edward Elgar (1857-1934) was a leading English composer noted for his orchestral and choral music, which was often written in a bold and patriotic style. He also wrote smaller pieces of which this handbell setting, originally for violin and piano, is a charming example. The music is set in cut time at an allegretto tempo, and there are quite a few bell changes to be worked out. ( It is also available in a 4-5 octave format (FL HB 340)). "Chanson de Matin" (morning song) is 111 measures in length.
