I Am So Glad Each Christmas Eve
"I am so glad each Christmas Eve, The night of Jesus' birth!" So begins the text of this anthem with a score for additional (but optional) handbell accompaniment. Fourteen bells are called for and range from Bb4 to A6. The bells first enter on a sweet, unison line over text speaking of the "little Child of Bethlehem." Later, the bells duo the keyboard for an instrumental passage. This is equally effective with handchimes.
