Variations on Vruechten (This Joyful Eastertide)
Originally a Dutch folk tune, VRUECHTEN became a hymn tune in Joachim Oudaen’s David’s Psalmen (1685), with words and harmonization published in 1894 in Carols for Eastertide and Ascensiontide. Pat has developed several stylistic variations with perfectly placed stopped techniques complementing each of the variations. This is a delightful arrangement suitable for worship any time of year, but especially during Eastertide.
