Review:
The old, stately, hymn tune "Ebenezer", is put through new paces in this well-crafted arrangement that takes a "Take Five" accompaniment style and marries it with the fluid notes of the hymn melody. Marked "Agressively", a "vamp" or pattern is set up all in staccato notes, which are specified to be played by mallets on tabled bells. The music and momentum grows throughout the work to a strong ending.
