Review:
"If Thou Would Suffer God to Guide Thee" is the usual text associated with this German hymn tune. Optional 3-octaves of handchimes and C instrument are scored (separate C instrument part included in folio) along with the bells to create a meditative mood. A large part of the work includes mallets on suspended treble bells, which play an ostinato-like accompaniment to deepen the reflective theme. Ninety-one measures in length.
