Review:      The Capital City Ringers, a community handbell ensemble from Lansing, Michigan, was founded by Jane C. Wright in 1984. Their fifteen to twenty concerts a year that take them to many parts of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and beyond. In 1991 they performed for four days at Disney World and Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida. During the Christmas 1999 season, they were the first handbell ensemble to perform in concert with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. The Capital City Ringers are known for their musical expression and dynamic interpretation of the music they play. They often add instrumental parts to increase and enhance musically the selections they ring. Recently, and on this recording, they have experimented with the concept of doubling bass lines with Choirchimes to reinforce the bass sound and create a better balance with the higher octaves of handbells.
