Mixolydian Procession

Review:      The mixolydian mode is like a major scale with the seventh step lowered a half step. This procession is marked "like a procession approaching from a distance". Rhythmic values begin simply then progress to more complex patterns. Some staccato technique is scored. The music builds to the measure marked "Ring with joyful abandon!" and then slowly de-accelerates rhythmically to a peaceful ending.
