"Grosser Gott" from the "Katholisches Gesangbuch" is the hymn tune this arrangement is based upon. Another text title with this tune is "Own the Mystery." An extended, ethereal opening section gives way to a chordal texture of "tall" chords and simple rhythms. Optional 3-4 octaves of choir chimes are scored for the melody later in the work.
