Review:
The spirit of Ludwig Van Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" was captured in a setting by Joel Raney, which Arnold Sherman took and transcribed for handbells. The material is presented in toccata fashion with lots of sixteenth-note accompaniment bold chords, arpeggiated harmonies, syncopated pulse in some sections, and sfz, sixteenth-note run to a final ending chord.
