Review:
This special work for nine female or boys' voices and 8 handbells (from D5-F6) was commissioned by Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. It was first performed there on January 16, 1983. Throughout the 11 bells ring mallets on suspended bells in something akin to a random ring. The text is the last words of Lady Margaret Beaufort, and in the original spellings is rendered: O Blessyd Jhesu, helpe me! O Blessyd Lady, socoure me!
