Review:
Johann Crüger's (1598-1662) melody, HERZLIEBSTER JESU, is set here in a straight-forward, easy-to-read manner. The pure, rung sound predominates the piece except for a short passage of martellatos for effect in fortissimo dynamic. The ending calls for a whole-note chord, rung pianissimo and allowed to fade away into the distance.
