Review:
Richard Proulx has set the anonymous Latin hymn for SATB voices with handbells and tambourine with optional flute and cello. The bells range from G3 to C7 and ring mostly cluster chords and ostinato patterns. The opening of this hymn is in chant style before entering a strict tempo. The chant sections appear at intervals accompanied by the bells and lend "medieval" atmosphere to the work.
