Review:
Leslie Betteridge has had a most distinguished career as a composer, organist and choir master in England and Bermuda. Now turning to handbell literature he has set three American tunes in a fantasy: America, Steal Away and Battle Hymn of the Republic. The cover is marked 4, 5, 6 or 7-octaves, but this is a misprint. The upper bells only go to the 6th-octave and the lower bells only use one note from the 6th-octave. There are no 7th-octave notes involved. The tunes are set in a straight-forward manner and keep everyone involved throughout the work.
