Review:
This original composition is the second movement of commissioned by the 94-95 Concert Handbell Ringers of the Wheeler School. The tempo is marked quarter note = 76. At that clip the chromatics can present a challenge. Some techniques are called for, but are used sporadically throughout the work. The key leans toward d minor and the mood is of frantic energy. Repeated rhythmic patterns help stabilize the piece and give it energy and drive.
