Review:
Rimsky-Korsakov was quite proud of his Capriccio Espagnol, Op. 34, which features five Spanish folk melodies. Robin selected several of the main themes for this arrangement, keeping them faithful to the original: "Alborada" which also includes variations on that theme, "Fandango", with "Alborada" reprised at the end. It is rung throughout with perfectly placed shakes and mallets plus a few mart-lifts, all of which complement the original. Addition of handchimes on one of the lovely variations adds color to the piece. The optional tambourine and castaƱets top it off! Your solid Level 3+ ensemble will rock this work and audiences will love it!
210 measures in the key of G Major.
